About Me
Who am I
I am an enthusiastic third year Computer Engineering major, with a strong background in multiple leadership positions, providing me with effective and strong communication skills effective for collaboration.
I have a passion for learning new skills and topics outside my academic curriculum, as well as for problem solving and thinking outside of the box to solve problems, not just in my life but also my surrounding environments. I am eager to apply my proactive mindset to tackle challenges and drive impactful solutions.
Coming from a background of relative privilege in South Africa compared to the majority of the population, pushes me to create and find long term sustainable solutions in everything that I do. Driven by a desire to give back to my community and make a positive impact, I have been actively engaged in various forms of community service throughout my life. Whether through volunteer work, mentorship programs, or involvement in initiatives such as Engineers Without Borders at Georgia Tech, I am dedicated to leveraging my skills and resources to serve those in need.
I am currently seeking an internship in either the computer hardware and emerging architecture field, robotics and autonomous systems field or the product design field for Summer 2025.
Where am I from
I am from Johannesburg, South Africa from a very loving family who instilled in me the values of pursuing my dreams and continuously questioning my own beliefs and ideas in a constructive manner.
I lived in South Africa my whole life before moving to America by myself to study Computer Engineering. This journey, marked by independence and self-discovery, has further reinforced my resolve to embrace challenges head-on and pursue excellence in all endeavors.
Although originating in South Africa, I strive to make a meaningful impact across the world in technology and innovation.
My experiences both at home and in America have made me into a resilient and adaptable individual, ready to seize opportunities and make a difference in the world of Computer Engineering and beyond.
My South African background provides me with a unique worldview that I feel helps progress conversations and diversity of thought in the spaces I am in. It also has shaped some of my academic and professional goals and passions. Having grown up surrounded by an extreme level of poverty, I have a particular passion for finding global development opportunities that are sustainable and scalable to improve the lives of my people – which often are technology-driven. My personal mission is to take the education I receive in America and the technologically-grounded innovation I would discover during my academic career to improve my homeland and the world beyond it.
Why Computer Engineering
From an early age I had always been drawn to problem-solving and hands on activities, brought on by my involvement with my schools Lego robotics after school activity in first grade. It was during this time that I realized my passion for these things and set my sights on becoming an engineer.
Captivated and driven by my dream of becoming an engineer I would later be introduced to Computers and Information Technology in high school, further solidifying my decision to be an engineer, and gave me the direction into the computer hardware field, and thus Computer Engineering was the obvious choice for me.
With a clear direction and unwavering determination, I have dedicated myself to this dynamic and ever-evolving field. It is my lifelong ambition to continue exploring the frontiers of technology and making meaningful contributions to the advancement of computer hardware and related domains, while still being passionate about robotics and autonomous systems.
